About Prospect Commander

Available for Adoption in Puerto Rico only
Prospect Commander is a 2015 Kentucky-bred gelding  by Bodemeister. He retired to CTA in April 2018. He was diagnosed with “LF splint bone fracture” in March 2018 and was placed on 2 months of stall rest, followed by small paddock turnout and then turnout in a large paddock with other geldings. He handled every aspect of his rehabilitation very well and became sound again. He was adopted in Puerto Rico in late July and returned to CTA in late December as his adopter was struggling with providing adequate stabling and care for him. He needed to regain some weight when he returned, but otherwise is doing well and has adapted to life at CTA again. The equine veterinarian has given him the OK for an athletic career, and we think he’d be good at a lower-level athletic job as well as pleasure, trail and companionship. He is quiet and we belief he’d make a fine kids’ / teens’ horse, though he can carry as adult rider without problem. He is a classy, easy horse to handle on the ground and in the saddle.
