Loyalist is a 16.1hh, 2013 California-bred Gelding. He raced in Califonia, Arkansas and Puerto Rico a total of 25 times. He has a big, solid build and is simply gorgeous! Loyalist retired to CTA November 18, 2018 (he was gelded in early November 2018). Loyalist was quite underweight when he arrived and in need to rehabilitation. He was been thoroughly “let-down” and rehabilitated. He is limited to a flat, non-athletic riding job due to some old racing wear-and-tear, including knee chips, arthritis and cold, set osselets. Despite this, he loves to be turned-out so he can run, frolic with his horse buddies and enjoy being “just a horse”. Loyalist is wonderful to ride. He has a smooth, comfortable W-T-C. He does require an intermediate to advanced rider. He has a lot of personality and is inquisitive, so we believe he’d be best having some sort of job. He likes to interact with people (see photos of him with a group of kids from a summer camp), so we believe he’d make a great non-riding equine therapy horse, a pleasure mount for trails, or some other non-athletic career.
